Tuesday’s 1-3-5 ( Nov 29th ) : Harry Luc from Handzup Group

For the 3rd round of Tuesday’s 1-3-5 ( 1 remarkable person,   3 questions and 5 reviews ) MMPB is happy to receive Harry Luc ( @lucharry on Twitter ), a young Haitian entrepreneur in the field of entertainment ( but not only as you will see ).

I have been interacting with Harry for several projects, in past ventures in 2008 and 2009, and I have always been impressed by his professionalism, his sincere will to support interesting projects and how he always respects his words.

Harry is originally from Saint-Marc and you will discover a couple of great places in this town in his fav 5 selection.  He is also very close to the Belo’s crew, and Broters Dread crew ( behind  Tripp TV and Digicel Stars ) . Handzupgroup is his personal venture, to which ManManPemba wishes nothing but the best.  Those days, you can see the Handzupgroup logo in the street banners for the Wanito concert at Mangos Lounge on December 1st.

3 questions to Harry Luc

MMPB : Can you present the projects and the activity of Handzupgroup ?

HL : Handzupgroup is offering the following services :

1- Event Planning

2- Talent Agency

3-Promotion

4-Distribution

5-Booking

6-Focus Group

7-Purchasing

8-Financial Services

MMPB : What is THE best event you remember for the year 2011 ?

HL : The event that I remember the most is the TchoTcho Mobile campaign for Digicel, throughout cities like :

  • Aux Cayes
  • Mirebalais
  • Cap Haitien
  • Jeremie

Indeed, it proved me and re-confirmed that Handzupgroup is unique in that domain. We were able to do promotion and planification remotely and we delivered excellent results.

MMPB : Could you talk about your experience as a Digicel Stars jury member ? What did you learn there ?

HL : For Digicel Stars, I am among the people who started the project 5 years ago. Even if I am not physically here, I always participate or share my ideas, because I belong to the company that produces Digicel Stars ( Brothers Dread ).

This year there was a new concept : 2 permanent judges and 1 judge that is changing. Since Alex Abellard got sick, and he was a permanent judge, I have been called in to replace him. I have been traveling to Paris last week so was not able to replace Alex.

Since I have always been backstage in this show since its creation, I can not say I learned so much, but it was certainly a big premiere for me to be on TV

Harry’s  reviews of his 5 favorite places and brands in Haiti :

1- Grosse Roche Beach: It reminds me of my youth.  According to me, it’s one of the best beach around Saint Marc.

2- Kay Foun:  It is a restaurant in Saint Marc. It is like a hang out restaurant where everyone come have dinner and talk about everything. That’s the place to be at night in Saint Marc in a week days and also that’s the only place where you will find all your old friends when they are passing by for a few days in Saint Marc.

3- Prestige:  I love it so much, it Is like water to me (lol). As Karl wrote too in a previous Tuesday’s 1-3-5, it is a national pride.

4- Havana Guitar Night, On Thursday Night – unless I am not in town , or I am sick lol – that’s one of my favorite place right now in Haiti. I feel like we are helping the new talents and give them a space to show what they could do.

5- Saint-Marc, That’s one of my favorite place on Earth. I have been to : North America, Asia, Africa, Europe and I really mean what I said . There’s no place like home as they say.
