Tuesday’s 1-3-5 ( Nov 8th ) : Hugline Jerome de DREAM Promo

OK. What is “Tuesday’s 1-3-5” on the Pemba City Blog and why NOT miss it on Tuesdays ?

Tuesday’s 1-3-5” will highlight 1 personality that makes our City move ( event promoters,  business owner, architects, journalists, artists, etc… ). This personality will be asked 3 short questions and will also give us the list of her/his 5 favorite spots or local biz, where she/he likes to hang out, shop, eat, have a drink, relax, work out, escape, travel, etc..

The personality that ManManPemba wanted to talk to for this first section is Hugline Jerome. Hugline Jerome is owner of Dream Promo, a dynamic,  generous, and creative promoter who organizes great events in Haiti and in the USA.  Hugline aslo works a lot with Kako – a ManManPemba comedian and entertainer, who will have a great event on the 17th @ Karibe called KAJ: Nou tout ka fou.

When ManManPemba asked Hugline if she wanted to offer us free tickets for the events she organized and that ManManPemba promotes on the website, she accepted and supported this idea without hesitating one second . That is why ManManPemba is able to offer such great VIP tickets for the hottest events in the City.

Hugline is also involved in many community oriented activities with the SMILE PROJECT HAITI, with a dedication and a sincerity that deserve respect and support. For instance, SMILE is organizing a TOY DRIVE, from November 20 to December 10. ( Call Sunja Leon at 786-234-9739 or sleon75@yahoo.com for more info )

What are Hugline’s 5 favorite spots ?

#1: Believe it or not, i love being in my bedroom this is where i am at peace and i get most of my work done. This is my sanctuary where my daughter and I bond ( we do not have this listing on ManManPemba 😉 )

#2: Love being at VOILA Marketing office, the people there are genuinely nice and treat me with the utmost respect. It feels good to be appreciated. The team is awesome.

#3: HYPE/SAGA  (Shoe and clothing): I love to shop. I try to treat myself at less once a month. I work hard so i always pay myself first.

#4: Santo Domingo: Whenever i have some free time, i escape to Santo for a quick visit. It amazes how quick they get things done there. It’s close from home and i can get anything that may need at last minute.

#5: Jacmel: It’s a city close to my heart. This is where i first stayed when i moved back from NYC. I have 2 best friends who live there. They were the first to believe in me that led me to create DREAM.

3 questions to Hugline

MP :  What was the first event you organized ? When was it and where ?

HJ : First, i must say that i have been organizing events for a while now (15 years already). I have been in the entertainment business in the USA (Exit Ent, Krezi Groove now DREAM). My first event in DREAM was in April 2007 when i moved back to HAITI. I organized a Motocycle race in Jacmel.

MP :  What are your plans for December in Haiti or the US – are there some events you can already share with ManManPemba ?

HJ : December is full of activities, where the market is open for all. I have set up a calendar where everyone could take part. Just to name a few :

  • Stand Up for Haiti Season 2 with Montreal #1 comedian Sugar Sammy along with his opener Ron Josol. Hosted by KAKO. Thursday Dec 22nd at KARIBE.
  • Stand Up for Haiti-Season 2 for HBO’s grand premiere with Wil Sylvince. Hosted by Kako and After party with T-VICE at Club Indigo on January 1st.
  • Fabrice & Keke- Tribute to T-PARIS twoubadour night on December 23rd at Karibe Hotel.
  • K.A.J (Kako, Ashley, Jorj) Anti Stress #8 Nou tout k-fou on December 26th at Karibe Hotel.

There are many more to come.

MP :  DREAM evokes Martin Luther King’s speech and his famous quote ” I have a DREAM”. What is your biggest DREAM, your “manmanpemba” DREAM ?

HJ : DREAM is already and indeed a dream already coming true. I always believed that once you have faith, believe, determine and perservere you can and will accomplish anything. God gave us each to power to become the best that we can be. It’s all about catching the right moment to shine.  When opportunity strikes you have one shoot to blow. I have been blessed with many opportunities and i must thank KAKO who always believed in my crazy dreams. Not once he doubted me!
This is just the beginning of a great venture. We started with promotion through events, we now have expended our services to event planning for corporate, private etc.even offering promotional items to video commercials and audio spots. So DREAM has many more dreams to accomplish. We are on our way!
